Kayak Rally Report 2017

Our 7th annual Oxfam Exeter to Exmouth Kayak Rally on Saturday 15 July saw a record number of 115 craft entering, some doubles amounting to 140 paddlers altogether.

We estimate that over £1,300 will have been raised for Oxfam.  Just as importantly, everyone participating appeared to have had a really enjoyable fun day out on the water. There was a slight challenge, particularly for the paddle boarders, in the canal where a growth of weed in two short sections had delayed their progress, requiring towing by kayakers. They soon picked up speed once on the river. The weather and conditions were perfect.

Each craft qualified for a free entry in a raffle, prizes for which were donated generously by AS Watersports, Saddles and Paddles, Peter Dixon Chandlery, Edge Watersports, allGadgets Marine, Stuart Line, River Exe Cafe, Three Sixty Rehab Movement Clinic and Exe Sailing Club.

We would like to thank all members and staff who contributed so much to the success of this event.
