We are very pleased that we can now offer you RYA Cruiser Practical Training at Exe SC!

The courses can follow the syllabus for RYA Competent Crew, RYA Day Skipper and RYA Coastal Skipper aboard Karen Melling's yacht "Zephyr".

Course 1

13th Apr (5pm start) – 18th Apr (approx 4pm finish)

5 days over Easter weekend, including Bank Holiday

Course 2

28th Apr (5pm) – 30th Apr (4pm) and 5th May (5pm) – 7th May (4pm)

2 weekends including the Bank Holiday (5 days)

Course 3

26th May (5pm) – 29th May (4pm) and 2nd June (5pm) – 4th June (4pm)

2 weekends including the Bank Holiday (5 days)

Course 4

23rd June (5pm) – 28th June (4pm)

5 days (Fri evening – Weds afternoon)

Course 5

16th July (5pm) – 21st July (4pm)

5 days (Sun evening – Fri afternoon)

Course 6

1st August (5pm) – 6th August (4pm)

5 days (Tues evening – Sun afternoon)

 

COURSE FEES

£500 – Exe SC Members

£540 – River Sailing Club Members

£570 – Non Members

 

Courses will only be run if there are 3 confirmed students, maximum of 4 students per course.

Other Courses:

If you haven't seen what you'd like on the programme, please enquire. We are keen to cater the programme to demand and can probably put on any course needed, from in-house training to the RYA Dinghy Scheme, RYA Shore-based Courses and RYA Powerboat scheme.

Deposits:

A deposit of £50 (or full payment if the course fee is less than this) is required for all courses. Please send to the club address for the attention of Vicki with note to say what it's for. This will secure your place on the course. If a deposit hasn't been paid, your place is likely to be given away. If in the event you have to cancel your place, your deposit is non-returnable. 

Payments: 

Cash or cheques are acceptable. Please make all cheques out to Exe Sailing Club. Costs advertised are based on the 2016 prices. Courses in the future may be subject to change.

Kit and Equipment:

Any Logbooks needed are available from the club to purchase.

Buoyancy Aids and Lifejackets:

Buoyancy Aid 50 Newtons minimum is required for all sailing activity.

Powerboat 2 courses you may wear a Lifejacket instead which is serviceable. 

Refreshments/Lunch:

Tea, coffee and squash etc will normally be available at the club for a small fee.

At weekends lunch can be purchased from the club but remember you may have limited time, so order early or even better pre-order with the club if you can.

Carol's Bakery, St Andrews Rd is 5 minutes walk away and provides a wide range of filled rolls, pies, pasties cakes etc. For a great all-day breakfast try the Dock Café.

Car Parking:

Car parking is available to members only. Some car parking may be available during the course if quiet at the club.
