Exe Squad News

Junior Racing Winter Training got off to a fantastic start on Saturday 14th October.  20 juniors with a range of abilities and experience had the opportunity to learn and develop their racing skills with guidance from our volunteer coaching team of Mike Way and Debbie Hemmings along with professional coach Mark ‘Corky’ Rhodes.

Our new format for Winter Training worked really well, with the group performing set exercises and short practice races in the morning and joining in with the adults for club dingy racing in the afternoon.  The themes for the day were “Making the most of the opportunities available for you to learn” and “Not being afraid to fail”.

I had really great feedback from Juniors that they really enjoyed and got a lot out of the day.  I’d like to extend thanks to our coaches and the adult dingy racers for making the Juniors feel welcome and supported during afternoon racing and finally to Stuart Hills and Ted Draper who’s support for developing Junior Racing at the club has been a real help.

The next Winter Training date is Sunday 12 November.  Fingers crossed for another fantastic day.
