RYA Start Yachting
AIM
A short introduction to sailing for complete beginners.
By the end of the course you will have experienced steering a yacht, sail handling, ropework and be aware of safety on board.
Holders of the Start Yachting certificate can go on to complete the Competence Crew course in a reduced time of three days or two weekends.
DURATION
This is a weekend residential course on a yacht. Course normally starts at 1700 on a Friday, aiming to finish 1600 on the Sunday

Minimum age: 18 yrs
COST
Cost: £300 for members, £350 for non-members
which includes
Certificate on successful completion of course.
YOU NEED TO BRING
- Lifejacket
- Waterproofs and warm clothes
- None marking shoes
- Sleeping bag and pillow
- Notebook and pen
If you are booking as a couple, or two friends who do not mind sharing a small cabin, please book one place online and then email training@exe-sailing-club.org to book the other.
