RYA Day Skipper Theory Autumn 25
A comprehensive introduction to chartwork navigation meteorology and the basics of seamanship. Invaluable for learning how to start making decisions on board and if you are considering taking the RYA Day Skipper practical course.
AIM
This course equips you with enough knowledge to navigate around familiar waters by day. A basic knowledge of lights is also included to introduce you to night cruising.
DURATION
This course runs on the following dates: Wed 8th, Sun 12th, Wed 15th, Wed 22nd Oct, Sun 2nd, Wed 12th, Sun 16th, Wed 19th, Sun 23rd Nov.
Timings, 9am to 5pm Sundays, 7pm to 9pm Wednesdays
The course is taught over 40 hours with two exam papers
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Some practical experience is desirable.
MINIMUM AGE
Minimum age: 16 yrs
COST
Cost: £350 for members, £400 for non-members

RYA Handbook and course notes
Portland plotter and dividers
Certificate on successful completion of course.
YOU NEED TO BRING
- Large notebook, pencils and stationary
- Packed lunch (extra snacks/drinks available when club bar is open)
