RYA Start Sailing or RYA Better Sailing, Dinghy Sailing June
Aimed at adults learning to sail. Ideal for complete beginners, those who learnt to sail years ago or a conversion from yachting to dinghy sailing. Will get you sailing on all points of sail.
Aimed at Level 2 sailors, keeping skills up-to-date and competent. Also gives tasters of the further courses i.e: racing, performance sailing, spinnaker sailing and day sailing.

Duration; 2 day weekend courses, both courses running on this weekend, one course per weekend.
YOU NEED TO BRING
- Sailing gear to include
- Wetsuit
- Buoyancy aid (minimum 50 Newtons) (the club has some that can be lent out)
- Footwear (Grippy shoes that can get wet. Wetsuit boots or shoes, or trainers are fine, Plimsoles, Crocs or Wellies not ok)
- Swim gear and/or rash vest for under the wetsuit
- Waterproof jacket or spray top
- Towel
- Sun protection including suncream/sun hat
- Warm hat for colder days
- Logbook (Provided on Start Sailing or can be purchased from the club)
- Water-bottle
- Packed lunch (extra snacks/drinks available when club bar is open)
Minimum age: 13yrs
Courses held at Exe Sailing Club with a minimum duration of 16 hours, with a maximum ratios of,
Start Sailing, 1 instructor to 3 students in double hander, or 1 instructor to 6 students in single handers.
Basic Skills and above, 1 instructor to 9 students in double handers, or 1 instructor to 6 students in single handers.
