Junior Summer Sailing
Junior Summer Sailing event is aimed at Junior club members who are 8 or over and qualified to RYA stage 3 an opportunity to sail during the school summer break on a Thursday evening.
The purpose of the event is to improve the confidence of the Junior Sailors by organising cruising in-company, sailing pre-set small courses and to have fun on the water with safety cover in attendance.
Sailing will take place in the estuary as far as buoy 10 and those entering on the day are required to sign on using the declaration sheet which will provide important information relating the specific day.
The Event Organiser will carry out a brief before launching.
Although the event is not covered by Racing Rules of Sailing or supervised by our training school it is supported by an Event Organiser who is the lead for Safety, Dinghy Instructors, Safety team including first aid and a Beachmaster rostered onto the event.
All our standard procedures apply and those wishing to take part will enter using the club manager system and will require that the risk statement is read, and parents' consent is agreed. As this is a parents led activity they or a legal guardian is to remain at the club whilst the Juniors sail.
