RYA Day Skipper Theory Nov/Dec 24

A comprehensive introduction to chartwork navigation meteorology and the basics of seamanship. Invaluable for learning how to start making decisions on board and if you are considering taking the RYA Day Skipper practical course.

AIM

This course equips you with enough knowledge to navigate around familiar waters by day. A basic knowledge of lights is also included to introduce you to night cruising.

DURATION

This course runs on the following dates: Sat 9th, Tues 12th, Sat 16th, Tues 19th, 26th and Sat 30th Nov, Tues 3rd, Sat 7th, Tues 10th, Sat 14th, Tues 17th Dec.

Timings, 9am to 5pm Saturdays, 7pm to 9pm Tuesdays

The course is taught over 40 hours with two exam papers

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Some practical experience is desirable.

MINIMUM AGE

Minimum age: 16 yrs

COST

Cost: £350 for members, £400 for non-members

which includes

RYA Handbook and course notes

Portland plotter and dividers

Certificate on successful completion of course.

YOU NEED TO BRING

• Large notebook, pencils and stationary
• Packed lunch (extra snacks/drinks available when club bar is open)
