RYA Powerboat Instructor
AIM
To qualify to be able to instruct up to and including Powerboat Level 2. If you hold the Safety Boat Certificate, you may also teach the RYA Safety Boat Course.
DURATION
A 3 day course (a minimum of 24 hours)
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
RYA Powerboat Instructor Skills Assessment (completed within the last 12 months)
RYA First Aid Certificate or equivalent
RYA Powerboat Level 2
RYA Dayskipper Shorebased (recommended)
RYA SRC VHF (recommended)
5 years experience powerboating (or one season full time)
Familiarity with a range of craft
RYA Membership
MINIMUM AGE
Minimum age: 16yrs
COST
Cost of course and pre-assessment: £250 for members* / £500 for non-members
* Subsidy in place for members who would use their instructor ticket as part of the training team at ESC!

YOU NEED TO BRING
- Powerboat gear to include
- Sailing gear (You should be ready and prepared to enter the water if necessary)
- Buoyancy aid (minimum 50 Newtons) not a Lifejacket
- Sun protection including suncream/sun hat
- Warm hat and layers for colder days
- Notebook and pen
- One Passport Photo for your certificate
- Waterbottle
- Packed lunch (extra snacks/drinks available when club bar is open)
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Courses held at Exe Sailing Club with a minimum duration of 24 hours, with a maximum ratio of, 1 instructor to 6 students.
