Winter Storage
Exe Sailing Club makes use of part of the dinghy park and part of the car park between October and March for the winter storage of club members’ sailing cruisers.
All movements will be by arrangement with the Cruiser Berthing Marshal. Cruisers arrive for winter storage and depart in spring by one of three methods:
- Over the wall lift-out / lift-in. This is for yachts that can take the ground on Shelly Beach at the Club without assistance. All vessels to be craned over the wall will be lifted on the same day. This is arranged by the club.
- Lifted onto trailer or transporter at the marina and brought to the club by road. This is arranged by owners in coordination with each other. They will arrive after over the wall lift-out is complete and will leave before over the wall lift-in starts.
- Lifted independently and brought to the club by trailer by owner. They will arrive after over the wall lift-out is complete and will leave before over the wall lift-in starts.
The current regulations relating to storage of cruisers at the club can be found Here .
Autumn 2024 Lift Out is planned for Wednesday 16th October.
Spring 2025 Lift In – Thursday 27th March.
2024-25 Cruiser Winter Berthing
All winter berths for 2024-25 have now been allocated.
Waiting List: spaces occasionally become vacant at short notice before a winter lift-out. If this occurs for winter 2024-25 the space will be offered to members on the waiting list.
If you wish to add your name to the waiting list for 2025-26, please contact the Cruiser Berthing Marshal. Berths that become available are offered according to the length of time a member has been on the waiting list and subject to the berth being suitable in terms of length and keel configuration.
