Knight Frank Champagne Challenge 2024 - Entry is now open
Published 06:32 on 23 Aug 2024
The Champagne Challenge was conceived as a fun season closer for cruisers. This year the race has a
new sponsor Knight Frank, the international estate agency.
The original concept of the race that is now the Knight Frank Champagne Challenge was to bring together
as many boats and sailors as possible for a fun, social, end of season sailing event. The race has been
run from Exmouth to Brixham since 1994 with an awards ceremony, reception and dinner at the Brixham Yacht Club.
The purpose is still the same to provide an event that suits all ages and all levels of experience who
enjoy sailing. The competitive element is there, but it isn’t the main objective: in fact, there’s an
unwritten rule that says that nobody can win the race twice.
Race organiser, Tink Dixon, said “The Knight Frank Champagne Challenge has always been recognised
as a terrific celebration and huge fun for everybody who takes part. I’m delighted that Knight
Frank has agreed to sponsor the race and I’m looking forward to working with them to ensure that
everybody who takes part enjoys themselves.”
The Knight Frank Champagne Challenge is an open event. Full details can be found
here and entry is open now.
