Exe hosts Trio Nationals with club members taking the top honours on the water

Last weekend saw the club host three days of spectacular sailing for the Nobel Marine Comet Trio Nationals. 20 dinghies competed in 7 races held at sea, with some great courses set by race officer Les Arscott and his team, despite tricky wind conditions on day 3. But it was all Exe sailors who ended up fighting for the highly contested podium spots, with Chris and Ben Biglin building a big enough lead with 4 firsts to secure the number one position overall. Anne and Mike Way continued the family winning formula with second place overall followed by Andrew and Caroline McAusland in third.
Once again, the event was a huge success with competitors having a fantastic experience of the club and the sailing we offer. Thanks are therefore needed to all those who volunteered over the three days, and of course in the immense preparation and clear up that is needed to host an event. The club would not be able to hold this level of competition without you. So huge thanks from the club and Trio class to all involved.
