RYA Seamanship Skills
NOTE: This is not a course we run as standard, however we will run when demand requires. Contact the Club Professional to discuss.
AIM
Gives you further seamanship skills to better your sailing and troubleshooting on the water. Gives the skills needed for those wanting to become instructor in the future.
DURATION
A 2 day course (a minimum of 16 hours)
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Sailing skills to the standard of RYA Level 2 Basic Skills/ RYA Youth Sailing Scheme Stage 4
MINIMUM AGE
Minimum age: 13yrs

Cost: £180 Members, £240 Non-members

YOU NEED TO BRING
- Sailing gear to include
- Wetsuit
- Buoyancy aid (minimum 50 Newtons)
- Footwear (Grippy shoes that can get wet. Wetsuit boots or shoes, or trainers are fine, Plimsoles, Crocs or Wellies not ok)
- Swim gear and/or rash vest for under the wetsuit
- Waterproof jacket or spray top
- Towel
- Sun protection including suncream/sun hat
- Warm hat for colder days
- Logbook (can be purchased from the club)
- Waterbottle
- Packed lunch (extra snacks/drinks available when club bar is open)

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Course held at Exe Sailing Club with a minimum duration of 16 hours, with a maximum ratio of, 1 instructor to 9 students in double handers, or 1 instructor to 6 students in single handers.
