Welcome to the Exe Sailing Club Training Centre

As an RYA registered training centre we offer our members and non-members a wide range of adult and junior dinghy sailing, yachting, powerboat courses and a Sailability project (more details of Sailability here) . See below for the wide range of courses on offer.

Training Courses

Dinghy Courses

For adults you can learn to dinghy sail beginning with the Start Sailing Course (RYA Level 1). This can then be improved on with the Basic Skills Course (RYA Level 2) and then onto the Better Sailing (RYA Level 3) courses.

For Juniors (ages 8+) we follow the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme, Start Sailing (RYA Stage 1&2) and then progress onto RYA Stage 3&4).

For further development of sailing skills we can offer a range of advanced courses including RYA Seamanship Skills, RYA Day Sailing, RYA Start Racing, RYA Sailing with Spinnakers, RYA Performance Sailing.

Practical Yacht Courses

We run a range of practical yachting courses during the year, starting with the RYA Start Yachting Course, RYA Competent Crew, RYA Day Skipper and RYA Coastal Skipper.

Shorebased Courses

During the winter months, we offer RYA shorebased courses in RYA Essential Navigation and Seamanship, RYA Day Skipper Theory and RYA Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Theory, RYA First Aid and RYA VHF/DSC course.

Instructing

We have a large number of active and experienced instructors for dinghy, yachting and powerboat and regularly run instructor courses for various disciplines during the year.Talk to the Club Professional for more information regarding this.
