SAFETY NOTES:
We want as many members as possible to enjoy the use of the club fleet, but we must
outline some basic safety requirements.
Buoyancy aids must always be worn.
Full wetsuits and Dry suits are strongly recommended between Oct and June.
If you are planning to sail unaccompanied, let someone know your passage plan and
likely time of return. You should take a marine radio or waterproof phone.
Junior sailors (Under 18) must not sail unaccompanied. Use of a Buddy system, another person of similar experience in same or another boat.
Hire by Junior sailors must be approved by Club Professional/Centre Principal.
Always check the forecast before going out. Remember Exe is highly tidal. Check tides
before sailing and plan passage appropriately.
Finally, remember the decision to sail is yours, consider the conditions, your competence, confidence and your crew. If in doubt, be cautious and stay ashore or hire an instructor.
