Splash Night
AIM
Aimed at our juniors that aren’t quite old enough to start the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme just yet. They can start Splash Night from the age of 5.
An evening of fun on/in the water in a dinghy with an instructor. A great way to introduce juniors to sailing.
A parent/designated guardian will need to be present to help out throughout the evening.
DURATION
Once a fortnight on Friday evenings between May and July, with possible extras in the summer holidays. 6pm-8pm
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
None. Children will be supervised by instructors. Parents/designated guardians will be asked to help out, particularly on shore.

Minimum age: 5 yrs
COST
Cost: £4 per child
YOU NEED TO BRING
- Sailing gear to include
- Wetsuit
- Buoyancy aid for competent swimmers (minimum 50 Newtons)
- Life jackets (foam) to be worn by non swimmers (minimum 100 Newtons)
- Footwear (Grippy shoes that can get wet. Wetsuit boots or shoes, or trainers are fine, Plimsoles, Crocs or Wellies not ok)
- Swim gear and/or rash vest for under the wetsuit
- Waterproof jacket or spray top
- Towel
- Sun protection including suncream/sun hat
- Warm hat for colder days
- Water bottle is useful

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Splashnight will be run by our team of volunteer sailing instructors.We will ensure that safe ratios are maintained on the water but will be immensely grateful for parents/designated guardians to be on hand to help rig and de-rig boats and help whilst boats and children are on the shore.We are always happy to take out willing parents/designated guardians in the safety boats too.Any help is always appreciated by our volunteer instructors.
