RS 400
The RS400 is a two person hiking dinghy with an ideal crew weight of 23 to 25 stone, that is 150 to 170 kgs. It has a significant open meeting circuit and achieves around 100 boats at national championships. It is not a boat for the inexperienced, being a powerful boat in moderate to strong winds carrying a reasonably large asymmetric kite. At Exe at present there are a number of RS400 owners but often one to three racing in the handicap fleet each race. It is a demanding but rewarding boat which is fun to sail.
